• 3 ripe avocados

  • ½-1 lemon

  • ½ cup chopped onion

  • 2 serrano chiles or hot peppers, finely chopped, without membranes and seeds

  • 1-2 cloves crushed garlic - optional

  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped cilantro

  • Salt to taste

  • Optional – 1-2 diced tomatoes


  • Cut the avocados in half and remove the seeds.

  • Use a spoon to scoop out the flesh of the avocado, place it in a large bowl, add the lemon juice, and mash into a puree. You can leave small pieces to give it a little consistency.

  • Add the chopped onion, chopped chili peppers, crushed garlic, chopped cilantro, tomatoes (if using) and salt to taste. Mix well and serve with tortilla chips or to accompany Mexican dishes. (you can also accompany it with patacones)
